So being " Bowie of the Animals" has its drawbacks; the last straw was hit when the chimpanzees tried to nick my Ipod. I was also reminded that it was William S. Burroughs that I was really into and not Edgar Rice Burroughs. So what was I doing in the jungle then? Definitely time to move on.

This week - still in Africa, Egypt to be exact, where my arrival coincided with the annual camel races. A lot of people don't know this, but I did stunt riding for the Indiana Jones trilogy, so the chance to get back in the saddle again made me deliriously happy. Also took away some of the heartache of being away from the llamas. (Clever, didn't I tell you not to take them out for ice cream!?)

So from Bowie of the Animals to Bowie of Arabia! Next week: who knows?
